Hello Everyone,

The best part is, FABS Cyberfitness is adding 7-15 videos each month, so you will never be board with the same "old" workout. Sorting out the fitness trends and gimmicks

Where does one start? I watch ads on TV that promise to give you a six pack in a few months by using their ab machine. Companies that promise weight loss by doing their diet, using their pills, or creams, or machines....blah blah blah. All the--for lack of a better word--crap, out there is not the way to get to the promised land so save your self the money.

If you want to reach your health and fitness goals the only way that it is going to happen is through work and perseverance. First, if your goal is weight loss, muscle toning or building then your nutrition is paramount. Educate your self on how to read a food label, how our bodies store fat, build muscle and how many calories your body actually needs. Second, challenge your body by pushing it out side your comfort zone. That is all there is to it!

So why do they keep coming out with all these gimmicks? Because people keep buying them!! We want the quick fix, instant results with as little effort as possible. Health and fitness is not something that should be done for a few months until you reach a predetermined goal--its great if you do, but it is something that should be for life. You only get one body!

Does this mean I don't recommend my company FABS? Hell no--I highly recommend it, we have all the tools to teach you how to get results, but you have to want to get them and not be afraid to put in the effort!

Making Exercise a Habit

Do I love to exercise? I am not going try and lie to you--no not really! When I am actually, physically going through the motions of a workout, whether doing chin-ups or out for a run, I am not saying to my self; "self, this is a hell of a lot of fun". Yet I continue to do it, as I have for years, and will continue to do it for the rest of my life. Why? Because, I love the way it makes me feel afterwards!
The best way I can explain it is that it is like brushing your teeth. I don't necessarily like, or dislike bruthshing my teeth, but they sure feel great when I'm done. And even more important if I don't brush my mouth feels gross! In fact, in that moment I can't wait to brush my teeth.
Working out is pretty much the same thing. You need to get to a point where you have to do it because, the alternative of not doing it feels much worse than a bit of sweat and some sore muscles.
If you can make it past the first 3 or 4 months then it will start to become a habit, and a habit that is hard to break. Now, how do you get past the first 3 or 4 months?...I will talk about that another day.

Mindful Eating

I recently had the opportunity to spend some time with a Buddhist Monk, as we are looking to add some Meditation Video's to our web site. We got to talking about eating and the obesity problem in North America today and he said some interesting things. He basically told me that people are so engrossed in their lives, so busy running to and fro, that they are not even conscious of much of their eating. Take going to the movies as an example; we buy a bag of pop corn and a pop--both of which are way to big by the way--and we sit there focused on the movie eating and drinking away. When the 2 hours have passed we can't even recall eating--so then what do we do? We go and eat some more. Eating has become such an integral part of our social fabric that we don't even know we do it!
The next time you eat--be aware of eating. Taste the food, feel the texture of it, take your time and chew it, think about it as you're doing it and don't be in such a rush to get to the next mouthful.
This is what my Buddhist Monk friend does and it works for him, he is certainly not over weight. In fact I don't think I have ever seen an overweight Buddhist Monk.

Why do we exercise?

I exercise to become stronger--period. I am not referring to physically, although that is an obvious benefit, but to mental strength. Physical strength begets mental strength, which in turn begets physical strength. It is a positive spiral effect. When you begin an exercise program a great many changes start to take effect. As your own body awareness changes, your moods begin to become more positive, your self belief and ultimately your self confidence will be re-born.

The way we think and feel about ourselves on the inside is the way we project our selves on the outside. Have you ever been in a situation where you are forced to deal with someone you really like, or worse dislike, it is almost impossible to hide your feelings. It is no different when it comes to liking yourself and being confident. This in turn will effect dramatically how people view us and treat us.

That in a nut shell is why I exercise--I like the person that it has helped shape me into.

That is also why I got involved with FABS Cyberfitness, so that I can help make a difference in other peoples lives as well.
